JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero) revealed that the 3 Kg subsidy LPG is currently experiencing an increase in consumption. However, Pertamina continues to be committed to keeping supplies safe.

Pertamina President Director Nicke Widyawati said that this July there was indeed an increase in consumption by 2 percent as a result of the long holiday some time ago. Pertamina is also recovering from its provision of distribution to accelerate it.

"However, the availability of 3 Kg LPG will continue to be ensured safe and hopefully in the next week it can gradually return to normal," Nicke told the media quoted on Wednesday, July 25.

In order to maintain LPG stocks, Nicke explained that Pertamina through Pertamina Patra Niaga monitored the distribution of LPG and also cooperated with the Regional Government to ensure supply availability and distribution of subsidized 3 KG LPG on target.

One of the efforts made is market operations. We are working with local governments to identify where we have to open market operations. This effort is so that the management of LPG stocks is effective directly to the community," said Nicke.

Nicke added, according to government data, around 60 million households are entitled to receive subsidies out of a total of 88 million households or about 68 percent.

"But today if you look at the data, how much is the percentage of subsidized LPG sales to the total LPG, the figure turns out to be high, reaching 96 percent, so we can see that there is something that is not right in its subsidy. Therefore, we are also working with law enforcement officials to check to ensure the distribution is right on target," continued Nicke.

Currently, to improve distribution governance, Nicke said Pertamina is registering or registering through ID cards and NIK so that it can be used as a basis for data that can be accounted for to the government. Nicke also appealed to the public to use LPG according to its designation, where LPG 3 Kg is a subsidy product specifically for the underprivileged.

"We appeal to the public, so if there is a shortage in any area or when you see there is an LPG distribution that is not on target or misappropriation, please report it to 135 so that it can be followed up immediately," said Nicke.
