Local Cut Chicken Prices In Jayapura Rise To IDR 15,000/tail

JAYAPURA - The price of local cut chicken in Jayapura, Papua, currently has increased to reach IDR 15,000 per head.

"Indeed, since Thursday, July 6, the price of local chicken meat in Jayapura has increased because farmers have also increased," said one local chicken seller at Hamadi Market, Jayapura, Ana, quoted from Antara, Saturday, July 8.

Ana said, based on information received from farmers, it was revealed that the increase was due to an increase in the price of chicken feed, resulting in an impact on the selling price.

"We sellers only adjust the price when purchased from farmers," he said.

Some buyers admitted that they were surprised by the increase in local cut chicken prices because last week the price was still around Rp. 45,000 to Rp. 75,000 per head depending on the size.

"However, currently it has increased to IDR 50,000 per head to IDR 90,000 per head," said Veronika, one of the buyers who opened a shop in the Entrok area.

The price of local cut chicken at Hamadi Market, Jayapura City currently ranges from IDR 50,000 per head to IDR 90,000 per head depending on size.

The chicken, which costs Rp. 90,000 per head, weighs up to four kilograms.
