JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Directorate General of Housing cooperates with the IKN Authority (OIKN) and the Indonesian Women Entrepreneurs Association (IWAPI) of East Kalimantan Province to hold joint meals with construction workers.

This activity was carried out in order to increase the relationship and togetherness between construction workers and various supporting staff at IKN Nusantara. Previously, the slaughter of sacrificial animals was also carried out to commemorate Eid al-Adha 1444 H.

"We want construction workers who are willing to work far from their families to feel happiness on this Eid al-Adha. One of them is increasing togetherness with cooking and eating food made by IWAPI East Kalimantan," said Director General of Housing of the Ministry of PUPR Iwan Suprijanto in a written statement, Saturday, July 1.

Iwan emphasized that after this Eid, workers are expected to be more enthusiastic about working to complete various infrastructure works in the IKN Nusantara area.

"The existence of sacrifices that are given in the form of time, energy, and away from the family will certainly be a reward field as well as realizing the good and quality IKN development results for the Indonesian people," he said.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Regional Leadership Council (DPD) IWAPI East Kalimantan Ernawaty Gafar said that this joint cooking and eating activity is expected to increase the enthusiasm of workers to work in the field.

IWAPI has also participated in providing various foods in the worker canteen at affordable prices and ensuring the quality of healthy food at IKN Nusantara.

"We want IWAPI members to be able to empower local women in the construction of IKN Nusantara. One of them is by running a culinary business in the canteen for construction workers," he said.
