Firecracker Party In Pamekasan Kills One, Eight People Arrested

"The arrests of the eight people who were suspects in this firecracker party case were based on the results of our investigation," said Pamekasan Police Chief AKBP Hendra Eko Triyulianto as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 8.

The eight people consisted of four people as a committee for firecracker parties and four activity funders. Namely with the initials AS (40), FH (26), AM (25), FAY (24), then SA (39), ML (30), AN (27) and AR (36).

"AS, FH, AM and FAY are the activity committees, while SA, ML, AN and AR are funders to make the firecracker party a success," he said.

In addition, among the eight suspects, some were assembled by firecrackers.

The firecracker party that caused one death took place in Pangoraian Village, Proppo District, about 15 kilometers west of Pamekasan City on March 31, 2025 and lasted from evening until evening.

To account for his actions, the police charged the eight suspects with Article 1 paragraph (1) of the Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1 of the Criminal Code or Article 359 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code with a maximum imprisonment of 12 years.

The chairman of the Pamekasan DPRD, Ali Maskur, appreciated the firm steps taken by the Pamekasan Police in the case of the deadly firecracker party that killed one person.

"We hope that the case of the deadly firecracker party in Pangoraian Village, Proppo District, is the first and last in Pamekasan," he said.
