KM Aspac 3 Drowns In The Waters Of Seram Island And Raja Ampat, 15 Crew Members Are Still Missing

The joint SAR team is still searching for 15 crew members after the Aspac 3 KM fishing boat sank in the waters between Seram Island, Central Maluku and Misol, Raja Ampat Regency, Southwest Papua.

Head of the Sorong Search and Rescue Office (KPP), Monce Brury said, so far he has rescued two crew members named Feliks Sawori and Obeth Yensenem so that the missing number is still 15 people.

"If the victims are found, they will be evacuated to the nearest health facility," said Brury in Sorong, Tuesday, December 17, as reported by Antara.

Brury explained that KM Aspac 3 sailed to find fish departing from Sorong to Misol on December 10 at 23.00 WIT.

On Saturday, December 14, KM Aspac 3 experienced an incident of drowning at a point of 126.24 NM from the Sorong Fishery Port, with a travel time of about 18 hours.

The joint SAR team was deployed after receiving information related to the incident from the captain of KM Aspac 17 on Monday, December 16.

Those deployed consisted of 2 KPP Sorong rescuers, 7 KN SAR 238 Baladewa crew members, and from the Bula SAR Alert Unit.

"The KPP Sorong rescue team was dispatched using KN SAR 238 Baladewa and other supporting equipment," he said.

The lists of 15 crew members missing due to the sinking of KM Aspac 3, namely Ekman Kanighi (nankoda), Anis Nuride, Aepner Nuride, Bob Warere, Deki Kapisa, Diki Saidora, Dodi Djabu, Hendrian Yustus, Jekson Mananggel, Maikel Rumambi, Philips Aope, Riko Rumabar, Risno Sangaji, Sepi Bowairi and airsheds Awom.
