Telkomsel Increases Network Capacity To Welcome Traffic Surge During Nataru
JAKARTA - Ahead of the 2024/2025 Christmas and New Year holiday season, Telkom Group ensures that all telkom Group services can be enjoyed by all their customers wherever they are.
Director of Network & IT Solution PT Telkom Indonesia Tbk., Herlan Wijanarko emphasized that Telkom has prepared all supporting infrastructure in all segments ranging from last mile, transport, to backbone.
"We have two gateways in Manado in a thermal condition of 24 hours and there are 14 infrastructures that sew from sabang to Merauke," Herlan said at a press conference on Monday, December 16 in Jakarta.
To anticipate the surge in traffic during Nataru, Telkom will prepare a fixed broadband from the initial 41 terabytes per second (Tbps), to 56 Tbps.
As for broadband mobile services, Telkom has added BTS, including 525 new 5TS 5G, 271 additional 4G BTS, and 178 BTS which will be upgraded. In total, there are 1,400 5G BTS that now serve 56 cities.
Telkom will also prioritize services at 409 strategic points, such as places of worship, public transportation centers, homecoming routes, and residential areas.

The standby post has also been prepared at 57 national locations, involving 15,000 technicians who will serve 24 hours to maintain the smooth running of the network.
