The H20 Constellations explore the challenges of a global water crisis through artwork and aim to raise awareness and encourage real action.

This exhibition was also inspired by the success of the 10th World Water Forum in Bali in May 2024.

The H20 Constellations highlight the critical issues of water such as water scarcity, sea level rise, and water pollution

The exhibition features the work of 12 visionary artists from various countries and the island community, including Citra Sasmita (Bali, Indonesia), Mariam Alnoaimi (Bahrain), Ragnar Axelsson (Island), Carlos Esteves (Kuba), David Gumbs (Martinique), Katie Holton (Ireland), Sid Natividad (Philippine), Donna Ong (Singapore), Gayan Prageeth (Sri Lanka), Alexis Rockman (US), Abigail Romanchak (Hawaii), and Michael Tuffery (New Zealand).

Lance Fung, an art curator and producer, said that each work conveys a deep and personal narrative, inspiring global reflection and real action that supports sustainability.

"Through Constellations H20, each artist offers a very personal perspective," said Lance Fung, in a written statement received by VOI, Friday, December 13.

"Regarding urgent needs, global cooperation and policy changes to deal with critical issues such as environmental balance, sea level rise, plastic pollution in the oceans, and the importance for us to return to human values and empathy," he added.

The exhibition aims to bridge social, ecological, and spiritual differences, uniting in diversity to face tough challenges.

"We are taking concrete action for sustainability," he said.

Please note, this collection of art installations is also in line with Polyhedron Poroject: The Heart of Indonesia. Namely, a collective work of art made by more than 1,500 participants and previously displayed at the Jakarta Cathedral in honor of Pope Francis' visit to Indonesia this year.

This installation features a Polyhedron as a symbol of Indonesia's heart, which is designed by the participants to reflect the rich cultural heritage and religious diversity of the Indonesian nation.

This work carries the motto Bhinneka Tunggal Ika as well as the harmony between art, knowledge and technology. The launch of the H20 Constellation is part of the THK Universal Reflection Journey which carries the theme 5P People, Planet, Partnership, Peace, and Prosperity.

This activity is also supported by the Government of Indonesia and blessed by Pope Francis. This series of events creates a momentum to build a more inclusive and sustainable future.
