Jakarta - Forbes Indonesia released the newest 100 richest people in Indonesia in 2020. This is the closest year even though we are already in 2021.
As in the previous year, according to Forbes magazine's own research, the Hartono brothers still held the first position.
This is because the total wealth reaches USD 38.8 billion or the equivalent of IDR 548.2 trillion (assuming an exchange rate of IDR 14,160 per USD).

Hartono Brothers
The position of the Hartono brothers is still unbeaten. They still occupy the position of the richest people in Indonesia.
They are Budi Hartono and also Michael Hartono who are two brothers who are so solid and their wealth is still difficult for Indonesians to compete with.
Budi Hartono holds the standing as the richest person in Indonesia and listed himself in position 80 in the list of the richest people in the world. His total wealth reached USD 13.6 billion or equivalent to IDR 217.6 trillion.
Meanwhile, Michael Hartono, the brother of Budi Hartono, is the second richest person in Indonesia and is in position 86 in the list of the richest people in the world. Michael's wealth won USD 13 billion or equivalent to IDR 208 trillion.
Widjaja family
Starting from the figure of the late Eka Tjipta Widjaja, the founder of the Sinar Mas Group, which was one of the largest conglomerates during the New Order era.
Its flagship bank, BII or Bank Internasional Indonesia, funded many of its other businesses which made it the King of copra at that time. This makes the Widjaja family second place as the Forbes richest people in Indonesia.

Prajogo Pangestu
Prajogo Pangestu is included in Forbes' latest 100 richest people in Indonesia in third place. He is an Indonesian businessman. The biggest timber tycoon in Indonesia before the 1997 economic crisis. His business started in the late 70s with the Djajanti Timber Group and formed Barito Pacific. According to reports, he had secured more than 6 million hectares of forest concessions.

Anthony Salim
The heir to the Salim Group, Anthony Salim is the chairman of the Salim Group which conducts business throughout Indonesia. Anthony Salim was born as the youngest child of the couple Sudono Salim and Lie Las Nio, who were the founders of the Salim Group.
Anthony takes over the company after his father's death. The man who was born in 1949 completed his Bachelor of Arts in 1971 at Ewell County Technical College in England. After returning to Indonesia, he became a talented entrepreneur. During the May 1998 riots in Indonesia, his family's home was burned down and he fled to Singapore.
Based on Forbes records, the assets of Anthony Salim & Family reached up to USD 5.5 billion or equivalent to IDR 77 trillion thanks to a series of successful businesses dominating the Indonesian market.
Most recently, as reported by WE Online, a company owned by the Salim Group, PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk (INDF) has posted an increase in net profit even in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Referring to the report, the stated profit increased by 6.23% from IDR 3.53 trillion in September 2019 to IDR 3.75 trillion in September 2020.
Sri Prakash Lohia
Who knows, he was born in Kolkata, India on July 11, 1952, who is currently the 5th richest person in Indonesia with a total wealth of USD 4.3 billion in Forbes version.
Sri Prakash Lohia is the founder and chairman of Indorama Corporation. Indorama Corporation is a petrochemical and textile company. Lohia was born and raised in India but has spent most of his professional life in Indonesia since 1974.

Launching the Forbes page, Thursday, December 10, 2020, determining the list of the richest people in Indonesia uses the method of share ownership and financial information obtained from families and individuals, stock exchanges, annual reports, and analysts.
The ranking lists individual and family wealth, including that, shared among relatives. Private companies are valued based on similar companies that are publicly traded.
Public wealth is calculated based on share prices and exchange rates on November 16, 2020, and adjustments may be made for some stocks that are thinly traded or have low public value.
