Subaru Levorg Latest Layback To Offer Off-Road Performance Impressive

JAKARTA - Subaru, a four-wheeled vehicle manufacturer from Japan, is known for its longstanding tradition of wagon cars. From Impreza to WRX, Subaru always maintains the characteristics of the wagon car in its product lines.

It looks like this legacy will continue with Levorg, the model that was first introduced in 2014. Levorg will make a comeback with the latest model that retains the shape of the wagon but with a touch of SUV style.

In a teaser recently released on Subaru's official website on Thursday, August 3, there are sporty lamp designs and changes to the now wider grip. Subaru appears to be making an increase in aerodynamics on the bumper with additional air-take and updated rim designs.

With such a powerful design refresher, the new Levorg appears to adopt some elements of the Levorg STi version introduced some time ago. The model will use the design foundation of Levorg's second generation introduced in 2020.

Although the teaser provides few clues about Levorg Layback, Subaru has not provided detailed information on machine specifications.

However, the latest Levorg is likely to maintain a symmetric all-wheel drive system that features Subaru, suitable for off-road driving experience. It is also suspected that Levorg will come with an upgraded suspension for adventures outside of paved roads, as well as higher ground clearance.

In terms of engines, it is estimated that the latest Levorg will use a boxer 1.8 liter turbocharged four-cylinder double engine, which is capable of generating about 174 dk of power, which will be combined with CVT transmission.

Subaru plans to open a pre-ordering period for Levorg Layback in Japan starting September 7, with plans to launch the model in the fall. Levorg Layback is likely to be placed parallel to Crosstrack and an interesting alternative to Outback models.
