From The Psychological Side, Rocky Gerung's Humiliation Against President Jokowi Is An Example Of Sociopat's Behavior

JAKARTA - Rocky Gerung is back in the spotlight for insulting President Joko Widodo. He used the word cheamy' to address Jokowi on Refly Harun's Youtube channel. As a result of his remarks, the political observer was later reported by Indonesian volunteers Bersatu.

Jokowi's volunteers had reported Rocky Gerung to the Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) on Monday (31/7/2023) with Article 218 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code which contained 'Everyone who publicly attacks the honor or dignity of the President or Vice President shall be punished with imprisonment for a maximum of 3 years and 6 months or a maximum fine of category IV.

But the report was rejected, before they finally reported it to Polda Metro Jaya.

The case of mocking a president or other important figures is not the first time this has happened. Before this, a young man from Manado also suddenly went viral because he insulted President Jokowi on his Facebook account. According to M. Rizky Nur Kamrullah, a criminology lecturer at Budi Luhur University, Rocky Gerung's actions are not necessarily called criminal acts.

"This has become a polemic because there is a report from volunteer supporters of Pak Jokowi, actually the President's own response is normal," said M. Rizky to VOI.

An act is said to be a criminal act if, whether he violates, secondly, whether the act has a comprehensive impact or impact on the wider community.

However, he added, Rocky Gerung's ridicule against President Jokowi was inappropriate, especially seeing his background as an educated person.

What Rocky Gerung did was out of bounds, he did things that were inappropriate, because he was a young academic, highly educated. People who do such things can be seen because he feels he is the most logical, smarter, so the words appear. "

Judging from the psychological side, Tika Bisono, M.PsiT assesses that there is a tendency to believe in someone who throws harsh sentences at important figures. Reported by Ai Care, eccentric is a personality disorder condition where a person will consider himself very important and must be admired. Sufferers of this disorder almost always feel they are better than others.

"There is a tendency to believe or be psychopathic orpanic when someone makes harsh words. This is an example that is inappropriate for children and partners, not worthy of being a role model," he said.

As an Eastern country, Indonesia is known for its politeness and manners. But over time, in today's modern era, manners and manners seem faded. Now people are no longer ashamed to say harsh words in public, even that is done by figures with big names.

Tika Bisono said that someone expressing opinions or criticism aims to seek sympathy for changing the perspective of others. However, criticism should be conveyed in a polite and civilized manner, especially when this is done by people who have higher education. The reason is, a public Figure every time his movements become a role model. Moreover, the country of Indonesia is known as a polite and civilized country.

"He ignores manners, as angry as people when they talk, they should be able to pay attention to customs and manners. Indonesians in the past, if they were angry, they used rhymes, meaning they still had to pay attention to people when they were angry," said Tika Bisono again.

Rocky Gerung also said that the word stupid is not a harsh word. He called thugs Javanese acronym from goodsing the prince jiwo angen-angening which means people who are loved by God," he was quoted as saying on the second.com.

UGM Professor of Linguistics, I Dewa Putu Wijana, said that the word stupid person does come from Javanese, but now the word has undergone a shift in meaning. "The word 'cheamball' is from Javanese, which means 'circles or carts', which are pulled by cows," Putu said as quoted by detik.com.

However, according to Tika Bisono, Rocky Gerung's reason is unusual because the word cheating' in Indonesia has a negative meaning. Disposing of negative sentences to someone even though we are still part of that person is not an act that should be done.

Crazy words in Indonesia are generally seen as negative, commonly used to commit criminals. Then when people issue this word to the head of state or official or president director of a company, even though we are still part of it, this is certainly inappropriate, disrespectful, and uncivilized.

Rocky Gerung used Refly Harun's YouTube channel to use harsh words against President Jokowi. In fact, he is not the only person who makes harsh words through social media. In today's digital era, people tend to become wilder when using social media. Not infrequently netizens mock public figures on social media accounts.

There are countless cases of humiliation through social media. Rows of public figures such as Ria Ricis, Shandy Aulia, Bunga Zainal and others have also reported their followers who commented unpleasantly on social media. Then, why does someone become wilder behind the phone screen, even though when dealing directly with this thing almost doesn't happen.

Insulting people in cyberspace, Tika Bisono said, shows one's inability to face the reality of the opponent's abilities.

"Why do people dare to say harsh words on social media? This shows his incompetence or inability to face the reality that the opponents he faces are at the level above him. In reality (to face each other), it takes great courage to be able to protect people. But on social media, because there is no responsibility so that people are more daring, "said this woman who graduated from the University of Indonesia.

President Jokowi responded casually to Rocky Gerung's ridicule. Instead of replying, the number one person in Indonesia actually said that he would only focus on his work. Silence or not replying like what Jokowi did is actually a form of reply as an adult.

"This happens because of democracy that is free of charge, it should not be allowed. However, there will be people like this who judge," explained Tika Bisono.

When a victim of ridicule is not reactive, not impulsive, not destructive, then it is an adult attitude. We retaliate by not replying, because usually the bully will be happy when the victim actually gives a reply.
