Banjarmasin Police Hold 165 Brong Exhaust Motorcycles

BANJARMASIN - The Banjarmasin Police Traffic Unit in the ranks of the South Kalimantan Police detained 165 motorbikes using Brong exhaust tracing exhausts resulting from raids over the past week.

"As a deterrent effect, we hold motorbikes for two weeks and the owners are subject to a ticket," said Head of Traffic at the Banjarmasin Police, Kompol M Noor Chaidir, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, July 31.

The strict punishment in the form of detention of motorbikes for a long time was a direct order from the Banjarmasin Police Chief, Kombes Sabana Atmojo, who was furious with the use of Brong exhaust.

Chaidir said that the Police Chief wanted to make sure that no more motorbikes using noisy exhausts were troubling the community.

"We continue to hold raids so that the use of Brong exhaust can be suppressed," he said.

The main target is areas that are often used for illegal racing such as Ahmad Yani Street Km 4 to Km 6 Banjarmasin.

Therefore, before being caught in a raid, Chaidir appealed to the owner of the motorbike to replace the Brong exhaust back to its original state, namely the standard exhaust from the manufacturer.

"We also hope for information from the public to always inform if there is a wild racing action to be followed up immediately," he said.
