Ministry Of PUPR Completes Ciliwung River Sodetan Project
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Directorate General of Water Resources (SDA) has completed the construction of the Ciliwung River Sodetan Project in Jakarta.
"The Ciliwung Sodetan has been completed and we are ready," said Acting Director General of Natural Resources at the Ministry of PUPR, Jarot Widyoko, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, July 27.
Jarot said the infrastructure development for the Ciliwung River such as the Ciawi Dam and Sukamahi had been completed and had been inaugurated by the president.
Meanwhile, the Ciliwung Sodetan Project is expected to be operational soon.
For information, the PUPR Ministry carried out the last breakthrough line or drilling work to connect the tunnel pipe for the Ciliwung River Sodetan project in Jakarta.
The construction of the Ciliwung Sodetan is in the form of a 1,268 meter long tunnel with two pipelines each with a diameter of 3.5 meters, serving to flow part of the Ciliwung River flood discharge to the East Flood Canal (KBT) and Cipinang River.
The Ciliwung River Sodetan project is part of the capital flood control plan for the capital city of Jakarta from upstream to downstream.
In the upstream section, the construction of 2 dry dams (dry dams) in Bogor Regency, namely the Ciawi Dam with a capacity of 6.05 million cubic meters (m3) and the Sukamahi Dam with a capacity of 1.7 million m3.
The Ciliwung Detention Center if opened in Alert 4 conditions can reduce the flood discharge of the Ciliwung River by 33 m3/second, while on Alert 1 it can reduce 63 m3/second.
The Ciliwung Sodetan project began in 2013. In 2015, the construction of the Ciliwung River sodetan was completed along 650 meters. Then it was continued in 2015-2017 with the construction of permanent outlets and the strengthening of the Cipinang River cliffs. The Ciliwung River's Ciliwung Intermediate Workshop is located in Bidara Cina Village towards the Ariving SHAft on Jalan Otista III, and reaches the sodetan outlet at the East Flood Canal or Cipinang River, South Cipinang Besar Village, Jatinegara, East Jakarta.
After being stopped, the Ministry of PUPR continued the work of the Ciliwung River drain to the East Flood Canal in 2021 along 580 meters, including the construction of double Sodetan, permanent inlet and outlet soodetan buildings and the normalization of the Ciliwung River and Cipinang River.
The work package is carried out by contractor PT Wijaya Karya (WIKA)- PT Jaya Konstruksi (KSO) with a implementation period of 730 calendar days according to the contract from August 1, 2021 to August 2, 2023. Overall the budget used for the construction of the Ciliwung Sodetan is around Rp. 1.2 trillion.
