Sukabumi Regent Threatens To Fire Principal Of SMPN 1 Ciambar For The Case Of The Death Of Students During MPLS
Sukabumi Regent Marwan Hamami threatened to fire the Head of SMP Negeri 1 Ciambar regarding the death of a class VII student with the initials MA (13) due to drowning in the Cileuluy River while attending the school environment (MPLS).
"If it really happens when MPLS and the school ignore student safety procedures, then we will not hesitate to fire the Head of SMPN 1 Ciambar from his position," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, July 24.
According to Marwan, to reveal the incident of the death of the Supreme Court due to drowning in the Cileuluy River in Selaawigirang Village, Cibunarjaya Village, Ciambar, his party formed an investigation team involving the police.
If later the results of the investigation, it is found that there are negligence and procedures that are ignored, the Sukabumi regent will immediately impose sanctions for dismissal of the village head.
His party did not want this incident to happen again and appealed to all schools so that the case became a lesson and attention.
Reminded that while carrying out school activities outside the school environment, schools must really monitor and ensure the safety of all students participating in activities.

Previously, the Head of the Sukabumi Regency Education Office (Disdik), Jujun Juaeni, denied that the Class VII SMPN 1 Ciambar student MA had drowned and eventually died while participating in MPLS activities. The reason is that MPLS at the school ended on Friday, (21/7).
However, he did not deny that cross-country activities and eating together on Saturday (22/7), or the day after the MPLS closed was an activity usually carried out by SMPN 1 Ciambar.
MA died due to drowning in the Cileuluy River, Selaawigirang Village on Saturday, (22/7). This incident was after the victim participated in cross-country activities and ate together organized by the school.
