JAKARTA - The presidential candidate from the Coalition for Change for Unity (KPP) Anies Baswedan stated that Indonesia needed change and improvement."We gathered at this place from all locations in Indonesia to state that we want changes and improvements for Indonesia," said Anies Baswedan when delivering a political oration at the Bung Karno Stadium (GBK), Senayan, Jakarta, Antara, Sunday, July 16.Anies emphasized that the special momentum was also witnessed by all representatives of Indonesian people from all over Indonesia. This activity is an effort to send a message to all over the country that Indonesia will achieve justice.Apples on standby for the change of the NasDem Party were attended by party cadres throughout Indonesia who filled the GBK. Chairman of the NasDem Party Surya Paloh and Anies Baswedan also conveyed political speeches.Also present was Democratic Party Chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) along with a number of Democratic elites, as well as PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu along with several party elites. NasDem, Democrats and PKS have formed a Coalition for Change for Unity (KPP).Anies emphasized the gathering of all NasDem cadres throughout Indonesia to strengthen determination, demonstrate national party commitments, commitment to the movement of change, commitment to Indonesia's restoration, re-establishing democratic pillars, re-aligning the direction of the nation, and reminding all parties to pursue the promises of independence."This is the struggle of the Partai NasDem which is consistent, not a simple struggle, but this is a very big struggle, a struggle that endeavors to be fairer," he asserted.Anies stated that unity is not enough to be tied up with a speech, unity is not enough to be tied up with language, but unity must be supported by a sense of justice.Based on the schedule of the General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia, the registration of prospective presidential and vice presidential candidates will start from October 19 to November 25, 2023.As regulated in Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections (UU Pemilu), pairs of presidential/vice-presidential candidates are proposed by political parties or coalitions of political parties participating in the election who meet the requirements for obtaining seats of at least 20 percent of the number of seats in the DPR or obtaining 25 percent of the nationally valid votes in the previous election for members of the DPR.Currently, there are 575 seats in parliament so that the pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates in the 2024 presidential election must have at least 115 seats in the DPR RI. It could also be that the candidate pairs are promoted by political parties or a combination of political parties participating in the 2019 Election with a total valid vote acquisition of at least 34,992,703 votes.
