Vice President Ma'ruf Amin Inaugurates 5 Strategic Projects In Manokwari From Road To Modern Market
MANOKWARI - Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin inaugurated five national strategic projects in Manokwari Regency, West Papua.
The five projects include increasing the capacity of the Haji Bauw-Pahlawan intersection section, the Fajar Roon-Sudjarwo Condronegoro road, the construction of the 1969 Pepera bridge across Sawaubu Bay, the construction of Sanggeng modern market, and the arrangement of the Bolarsi public arena area.
"This year, strategic projects in Manokwari have also begun," said the Vice President as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, July 15.
The Vice President explained that working visits to West Papua prove that the Central Government is very concerned about development in Papua.
These efforts are regulated through the Presidential Regulation on the Master Plan for the Acceleration of Development of Papua (RIPPP) in 2022 -2041.
"The acceleration of this development is in the context of Papua's special autonomy," said the Vice President.
Director General of Human Settlements of the Ministry of PUPR Diana Kusumastuti explained that the construction of Sanggeng's modern market, and the arrangement of the Borarsi public arena area will be carried out for two years (2023-2024).
The construction of the modern Sanggeng market costs IDR 168.2 billion sourced from the state budget, with a land area of 2.7 hectares.
"The project has been auctioned and hopefully this August has been determined so that it can start," explained Diana.
According to President Jokowi's direction, he said, the construction of the market building carries a green building concept.
The number of market stalls is 1,016 units and there are 394 units that will be occupied by traders.
"The market building is equipped with parking and green open spaces," he said.
Furthermore, he said, the arrangement of the Bolarsi public arena area was budgeted through the APBN worth Rp70 billion.
The open space of the Borarsi public is equipped with main buildings, stage, stands, plaza parks and parking lots.
He explained that the request of the Regent of Manokwari Hermus Indou, the main building for public open spaces can be used for the activities of MSME actors.
"The public open space covering an area of 2.4 hectares is very representative for government and community activities," said Diana.
Acting Governor of West Papua Paulus Waterpauw explained that increasing the capacity of roads in Manokwari is the government's effort to anticipate traffic jams.
The 1.5 kilometer widening of Jalan Haji Bauw-Pahlawan, and Jalan Fajar Roon-Sudjarwo Condronegoro 1.72 kilometers.
"Vehicles entering Manokwari as provincial capitals are increasing. So widening the road is important," he said.
In addition, he said, the construction of the 350-meter-long 1969 Pepera bridge that crosses Sawaubu Bay.
The Pepera Bridge is a monument to the history of Papua's integration into the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).
"The Pepera Bridge can preserve historical values," said Waterpauw.
