Medan District Court Judge Throws Methamphetamine Dealers Into Prison For 7 Years
The panel of judges at the Medan District Court (PN) sentenced the defendant Indra alias Indra Sahputra to seven years for the case of distributing 4.1 gram of methamphetamine.
"In addition, the defendant Indra alias Indra Sahputra was fined Rp. 1 billion, subsidiary to three months in prison," said Chief Judge Firza Andriansyah at the Medan District Court as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 4.
The panel of judges assessed that the defendant was proven to have violated Article 114 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics.
According to the panel of judges, the defendant offered to sell, sell, buy, accept, become an intermediary in buying and selling, exchanging, or handing over narcotics class I, not a plastic pack weighing 4.1 grams.
"The aggravating thing is that the defendant does not follow the government's program in eradicating drugs and damaging the nation's generation. Meanwhile, the mitigating thing is that the defendant admits his guilt and is polite," said the presiding judge.
After reading the verdict, the panel of judges gave the public prosecutor (JPU) and the defendant's legal adviser (PH) to think about it or accept the verdict.

Then the police personnel bought methamphetamine by means of aundercover buy. Meanwhile, the defendant obtained methamphetamine (under investigation). After getting the illicit goods, the defendant met the potential buyer.
Arriving at the location, Indra was immediately secured along with the drug evidence.
