Eri Cahyadi Asks KPK For Help Handling Surabaya City Government Assets Controlled By Other Parties
Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi asked the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), the prosecutor's office and the police to handle assets belonging to the local city government which have been controlled by other parties.
"I did ask for help, especially to the KPK. If suddenly (the asset land) has been dismantled, then it is rebuilt, the sub-district and village heads must come," said Eri Cahaydi as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 4.
In addition, Eri also asked for the firmness of the village head and sub-district head for the existence of all land belonging to the Surabaya City Government (Pemkot) which has been managed by other parties without any legal ties.
"So the sub-district and village heads must be firm. If there are (people) building on the land of assets, yes side by side, they will be dismantled. If it turns out that there are (plans) for demolition and development, they will be said (conveyed)," said Cak Eri, his nickname.
Cak Eri also emphasized that there is no such thing as a raid in the management of government-owned asset land. Even if it exists, he firmly asks his staff to dare to report anyone who raids the asset land.
"There is no backing here. But if for example there is a raid, please report it all. If it is already land assets, then return it to the state," he said.
He revealed that there are still many land assets belonging to the Surabaya City Government that are used or managed unilaterally, ranging from individual businesses to motor and car washing services.
"Many asset lands have not been taken. Some have been made to sell, some have been made by car washing businesses. There is no legal bond," he said.
For this reason, Cak Eri asked the relevant agencies to record all assets belonging to the Surabaya City Government. Especially for asset land which has been unilaterally used without any legal ties with the Surabaya City Government.
"I ask that all assets on it be occupied by people who have no legal ties," said the former Head of the Surabaya City Development Planning Agency (Bappeko).
Cak Eri also reminded the village heads and sub-district heads to rethink when they were about to lease land assets, especially when the asset land would be used by third parties to build the market.
"Because yesterday there was a spilled market in front of it, there was a municipal government asset, the cooperation was built by the market, but the spilled market was asked to pay. Yes, it's better if the city government cooperates with investors to build markets and traders in the spilled market are put there," he said.
"So when renting out something, you have to look at it first. If it is rented for others, it's okay, but if the market is made and in front of it there is a spilled market, yes, this is not clear," said Cak Eri.

According to him, the presence of the Surabaya City Government is to prosper the community, not for the benefit of certain groups or people.
"We are here for the people, we are here for the community, not for the benefit of certain people," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD) of Surabaya City, Surabaya, Syamsul Hariadi, estimates that more than 1,000 land assets belonging to the Surabaya City Government (Pemkot) spread across 31 sub-districts are currently still being used or managed by other parties without any legal ties.
"We are currently recording or recapitulating all land assets belonging to the city government. This is as follows up on the direction of the Mayor of Surabaya, Eri Cahyadi, regarding efforts to save state assets," he said.
