Bawaslu Appoints Lolly Suhenty As Acting Chair
JAKARTA - The Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) appointed Bawaslu member Lolly Suhenty as the Daily Executive (Plh) of the Chairman of Bawaslu while Rahmat Bagja was undergoing treatment after falling unconscious while attending the Bhayangkara 77th Anniversary Commemoration, Saturday (1/7).
"Institutionally, steps must be taken quickly so that there are no things that are constrained due to the condition of the Chairman of the Indonesian Bawaslu Rahmat Bagja. Thus, in the plenary session, we agreed that there would be a temporary period of his recovery first. My point is," said Lolly, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, July 3.
Regarding the current situation, Lolly said that Bagja's health was starting to improve, he was even able to communicate remotely with Bawaslu members.
Even so, continued Lolly, Bawaslu members have not visited Bagja so they can rest optimally.
Previously, information regarding Bagja who fell unconscious while attending the Bhayangkara 77th Anniversary Commemoration at the GBK Main Stadium was conveyed by the Chairman of the General Election Commission (KPU) Hasyim Asy'ari on Saturday (1/7) afternoon.
According to Hasyim, who was also at the GBK Main Stadium, after falling unconscious, the 53-year-old man was immediately taken to the Mintoharjo Navy Hospital, Jakarta for medical treatment.
