DNA Samples Of Blood And Teeth Of Victims Of The SAM Air Plane Crash Were Sent To The National Police Laboratory Center
The Papuan Police will send DNA samples of 6 victims of the incident of the Gran Caravan plane belonging to Semuwa Air (SAM) to the Forensic Laboratory Center (Puslabfor) of the National Police Headquarters in Jakarta. The goal, for further identification.
"With the condition of the body, the DVI Team will send DNA samples in the form of blood and teeth to the National Police Headquarters Laboratory for identification," said Head of the Papua Police Medical and Health (Dokkes) Kombes Nariyana, in his statement, Wednesday, June 28.
After being sent, the National Police Laboratory will begin the identification process. It is estimated that the time will take about 2 weeks.
For now, the identification process for the victims is not only carried out by the Papua Police's DVI Bid Dokkes Team, but also assisted by the Inafis Team of the General Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Papua Police.
It is undeniable that the identification process is quite difficult. This is because the condition of the corpse was burned and some of the bodies were not intact.
Meanwhile, the antemortem data of the victims has not been obtained entirely. Of the six victims, there is still a family of one body that has not yet given news.
"Judging from the cases experienced by the victims, it is possible that we will carry out a primary identification process, namely covering fingerprints, then teeth and DNA, or what is commonly called Post Mortem, but before that is done, we start with a labeling process and data collection first," Nariyana said.
Previously, the team had evacuated all the bodies of the victims in the accident to the pick-up point.
In the process, the team had difficulty evacuating accident victims considering the steep terrain, dense trees and weather constraints.
"At 12.54 WIT, information from the field showed that all the victims had been filled into the body bag and lifted from the point of the plane to the dropping site or pick-up," said Henri.
The PK-SMW plane belonging to Samuwa Air, Friday, June 23, had an accident on an Elelim-Poik flight carrying four passengers, namely Bartolomeus (34), Ebeth Halerohon (29), Dormina Halerohon (17), Kilimputni (20) with pilot Hari Permadi and co-pilot Levi Murib.
