Ark Zero, Small Electric Car At The Most Affordable Price

JAKARTA - Small and light electric cars are known as 'quadricycles' in Europe and several well-known models on the market, namely Citrowasin Ami, Opel Rocks Electric, and Fiat Topolino.

Most recently, Ark Zero, an electric quadricycle, was launched June 15 in the UK for the most affordable price of 5,995 pounds or IDR 114 million. This small car can only accommodate two drivers and one passenger behind.

Designed and created by Ark, a London-based electric vehicle startup that describes himself as Britain's first electric car company.

Reporting from InsideEvs, June 15, Ark Zero wants to push Britain's switch to a cleaner and environmentally friendly transportation system and enable sustainable transportation for everyone.

Like its class, Ark Zero is a tiny vehicle that has a length of 2,500 millimeters, a width of 1,202 mm, and a height of 1,625 mm, with a wheelbase of 1,720 mm. This means this vehicle is shorter but higher than Citrowasin Ami.

Body and chassis fuse into a fully aluminum unit, with monocok construction increasing vehicle strength and stiffness as well as providing additional security.

This aluminum material was chosen because it allows for greater absorption and energy transmission than steel bodies especially when an accident occurs. In addition, aluminum is lighter and less corrosive. With its small size and aluminum body, it is not surprising that Ark Zero only weighs 489 kilograms.

Ark Zero has a range of about 80 kilometers and can reach a maximum speed of 100 km/h with a 3 dk powered engine powered by a 80 Ah lithium-ion battery.

To charge Ark Zero, type 1 (up to 7.4 kW) chargers are provided standardly, while type 2 chargers are available using converters. According to the company, full charging takes six to eight hours.

Meanwhile, other specifications include sunsets, rear cameras, LED lights, central LCD infotainment screens, and Bluetooth connectivity.

This tiny two-door Quadricycle is currently only available on the domestic market even though Ark has plans for expansion into other countries.
