PDIP Secretary General: Puan-AHY Meeting Will Be Held In The Near Future
Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto said the meeting of PDIP DPP Chair Puan Maharani and Democratic Party Chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) continues to be finalized. The two are planned to meet in the near future.
"Hopefully (the meeting of Puan-AHY, ed) can be held in the near future," Hasto told reporters through an online press conference, Thursday, June 15.
Hasto explained that he had communicated intensively with the Secretary General of the Democratic Party, Teuku Riefky. Deputy Secretary General of PDIP Utut Adianto also became a liaison.
"Because they happen to be both in the PDI-P faction of the DPR RI together with the Democratic Party faction of the DPR RI," he said.
Some time ago, a photo of the meeting between Hasto and Teuku Riefky circulated. This moment occurred after Puan mentioned that AHY was included in the vice presidential candidate (cawapres) market accompanying Ganjar Pranowo. The name appeared in the PDIP Rakernas III.
Meanwhile, Deputy Secretary General of the Democratic Party Jansen Sitindaon stated that his party meeting with PDIP had been reported to Team 8 of the Change Coalition which brought the former Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan.
It is known that the Democrats are one of the parties supporting Anies Baswedan in the 2024 presidential election. They are members of the Coalition for Change with the NasDem Party and the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS).
"So this meeting is open," he said in a written statement.
