KPAI Criticizes Positive Baby Case Of Methamphetamine: Betting Lives

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) Ai Maryati Solihah asked toddlers with the initials N (3) who became hyperactive after drinking water containing methamphetamine type drugs to pay attention to their overall health.

"Health must also be considered. Not only the impact of not being able to sleep, but other health aspects experienced by the toddler must also be prioritized," said Ai Maryati Solihah when confirmed by VOI, Tuesday, June 13.

"To what extent has this baby intervened, it's not just a matter of not being able to sleep. But rather a medical check-up for safety," he added.

The incident that happened to a toddler with the initials N in Samarinda was very sad. Even KPAI is surprised by the use and narcotics in the immediate community.

"This is very sad. The use of eating and drinking tools is even given to guests, whether they don't think this will have an impact on other people or what. I'm worried, is this a guest, does this mother (the perpetrator) have children or not at home, is it also using the same glass or not?," he said.

Education must be intensified at the lower level of society so that similar incidents do not happen again. KPAI mentioned the importance of prevention efforts.

"So KPAI has attention from those 2 things. Protection and aspects of preventing drug control. Legal aspects clearly have weight because the stakes arrive at life," he said.

Previously, the police named ST (51) as a suspect in the aftermath of a toddler with the initials N (3) who tested positive for methamphetamine in Sungai Pinang District, Samarinda, East Kalimantan. ST became a suspect for giving water that was suspected of containing methamphetamine to the toddler.
