Vice President Ma'ruf Amin Flies To Uzbekistan, Holds Audience With Halal Industry Business Actors

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin and his wife Wury Ma'ruf Amin and a limited group left for Uzbekistan to make a working visit with a mission to increase cooperation between the two countries.Ma'ruf and his entourage departed from Soekarno Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten, at around 10.00 WIB to Karimov Tashkent International Islam Airport, Uzbekistan boarded the Chartered Flight Garuda Indonesia-2 Airbus 330.After a 10-hour 15-minute flight, Ma'ruf is expected to arrive in Tashkent, Uzbekistan at 18.15 LOCAL TIME and head straight to the hotel where he spends the night.Spokesperson for Vice President Masduki Baidlowi said the agenda for Vice President's working visit while in Uzbekistan included visiting Tashkent and Samarkand cities.He is scheduled to attend the Indonesian National Dialogue, hold hearings with businesses in the halal industry in Uzbekistan, until meeting with Uzbekistan Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov.Including receiving an honorary visit from the Governor of Samarkand City, Turdimov Erkinjon Aqbotayevich and looking at Islamic civilization there."There are several important agendas, including increasing cooperation, especially in the economic sector because there is final information, Uzbekistan wants to open relations related to direct air transportation from Uzbekistan to Jakarta," Masduki said in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Monday, June 12.According to Masduki, Ma'ruf will respond to the wishes of the country. Meanwhile, Indonesia itself, he said, has an export interest, especially those related to palm oil and its derivatives and others."I think this is an agenda for visits from the Vice President," he explained.In addition to strengthening cooperation relations between the two countries, the Vice President's visit to Uzbekistan is based on the country's reasons for its historical background and civilization.To note, Uzbekistan is a country that has a long history in intellectual areas related to religious science, especially Islam and science.There, the Vice President is also planned to look at the track record of Islamic civilization at the Islamic Civilization Center, to make pilgrimages to the graves of hadith expert Imam Bukhari.
