DPR Guarantees The Aspirations Of Health Workers Regarding The Health Bill Will Be Considered

JAKARTA - Health workers (nakes) from 5 professional organizations (OPs) held a demonstration in front of the DPR Building against the Draft Health Law (RUU). The DPR leadership ensures that they will pay attention to the aspirations of the health workers regarding the bill that will become the Omnibus Law.

"In principle, the DPR RI is ready to listen to the aspirations of all elements of society, including professional organizations for health workers regarding the discussion of the Health Bill," said Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives Muhaimin Iskandar, Monday, June 5.

"We are grateful that our health workers took a peaceful action," he said.

The man who is familiarly called Gus Imin said that the DPR RI is always open to dialogue spaces in the discussion of every bill. For the discussion of the Health Bill itself, Commission IX of the DPR has overseen the aspirations of all parties, including from various professional organizations of health workers. "And if you feel that there are aspirations that have not been accommodated, the DPR is ready to pay attention, discuss and consider them together with the Government," said Gus Imin.

In the preparation of the Health Bill, the DPR will certainly pay attention to and consider every demands and aspirations of the community. Gus Imin hopes that the preparation of the Health Bill discussed with the omnibus law method will be carried out thoroughly, thoroughly, and involve relevant stakeholders.

"That way, hopefully there will be no misappropriation and contradictions during the preparation of the Health Bill," he said.

A number of issues brought up in this demonstration, such as regarding health services where the mass of action assessed that there were disappearances of lex specialis elements in the Professional Law. The masses also objected because the Health Bill discussed with the omnibus law method would revoke the law (UU) regarding doctors, the law on dentists, the Law on nurses, and the Law on midwives, the Law on health workers, the Law on hospitals.

In addition, the Health Bill will partially eliminate the authority of professional organizations. In this bill, OP's authority is no longer single. The lost OP authority is related to the provision of recommendations to obtain a practice permit. There is also a conflict regarding articles related to tobacco and alcohol.

Gus Imin hopes that the Health Bill will not be rushed to be ratified. Because the Health Bill still contains a number of controversies.

"The Health Bill turned out to be experiencing a fairly serious controversy, there were two opinions that were dominant, the first was that the organs of professional institutions felt objectivity was disrupted but on the other hand, the community in general did not want a centralization of power in the implementation of health management," said Gus Imin.

The legislator from the East Java VIII electoral district added that the substance of the Health Bill needs to be discussed in a complete and controversial manner. Gus Imin asked that a solution to the polemic that still exists in the Health Bill.

"I think Commission IX and the committee discussing this law with the Government must detail it again, so they are not trapped on the same side or leave the other side. So this must be discussed thoroughly, there is no need to rush (distribute)," he said.

"The most important thing is that the Omnibus Law Health Bill product really serves the community well and cheaply," concluded Gus Imin.
