Easy Steering Off, Tesla Recall 137 Model Y Units
JAKARTA - The recall was carried out by an electric vehicle manufacturer from the United States, Tesla, over 137 units of Model Y.
The trigger for the Model Y recall was caused by a sudden steering wheel. The manufacturer says that this case has occurred some time ago.
Reported by Carscoops, Sunday, June 4, according to an investigation by the US Highway Administration Agency (NHTSA), the steering wheel could be released due to concessions to the steering wheel.
Previously, Tesla technicians had discovered the problem. However, concerns re-emerged when technicians found leeway in the steering binder while handling different cases.
Tesla is aware of the issue from May 4 and has been decided to make a recall on May 22. It also confirms that they are aware of at least four warranty claims and one field report related to or possibly related to this condition.
However, Tesla only found about 10 percent of the production of the Model Y that experienced this problem. Tesla also found no reports of accidents, injuries, or casualties caused by this problem.
It is known, the easy escape of the car is not the first to happen to Model Y. Previously last January, the steering wheel on Model Y suddenly came after a week from the production period.
At first, Tesla sent a bill to fix the problem. However, in March, NHTSA issued an investigation into this vehicle so that a recall order was issued.
Not only in Model Y, the problem of the loose steering wheel previously occurred in Model 3 in May 2020. The report says that a British man found the steering wheel on his Tesla Model 3 loose after a month of delivery.
