For Gaduh, Bawaslu Invites Voters Not To Spread Election Hoaxes

JAKARTA - Member of the Indonesian Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) Totok Hariyanto invites voters including the younger generation not to spread false information regarding general elections (elections) that can cause a commotion in the 2024 General Election.

"If there are uploads containing hatred, emotional enthusiasm, fake news, you don't have to continue. Read it continues to be deleted," Totok said at the Voting Smart Movement at the Auditorium Abdul Rahman Saleh LPP RRI Jakarta, quoted by ANTARA Wednesday, Wednesday, May 31.

According to him, hoax uploads that contain hatred will cause new hatred. For this reason, he asked that it not be distributed to other role models.

Totok emphasized that a voter must be smart in supporting his champion in the 2024 General Election. One way is to filter the information obtained.

"Then, if something doesn't match reality, don't continue. Just delete it too," he explained.

Previously, Totok asked the public not to be afraid to report alleged violations (elections, such as election participants who distribute basic necessities or money politics with sufficient evidence.

"Just report it, don't be afraid. If someone distributes the food, report it," said Totok.

He emphasized that the public does not need to be confused about reporting if there is an election violation. This is because the election supervisory office already exists in remote areas.

"The election supervisors are at the village, sub-district level. If there is an election violation, just report it, it's finished," he said.
