Mahfud MD Asks The Constitutional Court To Investigate Information Spreading Closed Election System Decision Information

JAKARTA - The Constitutional Court (MK) said Denny Indrayana would grant a closed proportional return system in the General Election (Pemilu).

The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, MahfudMD, asked the Constitutional Court to investigate the person who spread the information if there was a decision regarding this matter.

"If it is true that it was leaked, that is wrong. One of them leaked it inside, I went to the Constitutional Court to investigate who was already talking about it. If it has been decided, if it is leaked," said Mahfud at the Westin Hotel. Jakarta, Monday, May 29.

In addition, the former Deputy Minister of the SBY era, Denny Indrayana, was also asked to explain that information about the Constitutional Court would announce that the lawsuit for returning a closed proportional system was true.

This is because Denny Indrayana, who had brought up the information to the public through his social media accounts. Moreover, he also mentioned the source or the information provider.

"Denny is also to explain that it is true, and it will certainly be seen in time, who is right who is wrong," he said.

According to Mahfud, the spread of decisions that have not been decided or officially read out in a trial is a violation.

Thus, the investigation process must be carried out if the winner is true, there is a leak of information.

"But no decision should be knocked, it leaks to people. If it has been knocked, it must be distributed so that no one changes it, right at the Constitutional Court," said Mahfud.

Denny Indrayana claims to have received information about the Constitutional Court's decision regarding the legislative election system which will return to a closed proportional system or party voting.

"This morning I received important information. The Constitutional Court will decide on the legislative election to return to a closed proportional system, again choosing a party image mark," Denny said via a tweet on his Twitter account @dennyindranaya, Sunday.

In his tweet, Denny also mentioned the source in the Constitutional Court. Although Denny did not clearly answer, he confirmed that the source was not a constitutional judge.

"Who is the source? The person I really trust is credibility, who is definitely not a Constitutional Judge," he said.

"So, we are returning to the New Order election system: authoritarian and corrupt," Denny said in his tweet.
