Dozens Of Victims Of Coldplay Concert Ticket Fraud Report To Bareskrim
JAKARTA - The victim of fraudulent sales of tickets for British music group concerts, through his attorney, made a police report regarding alleged online ticket sales fraud through social media.
Zainul Arifin as the attorney for the victims said that there were 14 people in the Jabodetabek area who were victims of the alleged fraud with a total loss of Rp. 30 million.
"We went to Bareskrim to report or provide information on making police reports related to criminal incidents of alleged fraud through electronic media, in this case the sale of tickets to the band Coldplay music group concert," said Zainul as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, May 19.
According to Zainul, the perpetrators of ticket sales fraud are suspected to be syndicates involving individuals in several promoters.
"Because why not a few seconds later? War (war fighting over) the ticket was opened, it was immediately closed (closed). Therefore, we suspect maybe there is an individual in it playing," he said.
Zainul said the pattern of fraudulent music concert ticket sales was not the first time this had happened. A number of victims have also been deceived by similar patterns at the vocal group concert from South Korea BLACKPING and the MotoGP championship event in Mandalika.
He explained that the chronology of the fraud pattern was when prospective buyers waited for ticket sales to open, the online sales page was immediately completed. In addition, all access to official ticket purchases is difficult to access, so the victim looks for roads by accessing through social media.

From the social media, there was a conversation about ticket sales. Then, the conversation of the victim was moved to an online chat group. From there there are transactions that provoke each other to support each other, even though they are part of a syndicate.
"Therefore, such patterns must be traced by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police so that this legal event can be clear," he explained.
Zainul said one of the victims who was his client bought a ticket through someone on Twitter social media.
The victim has transferred Rp9 million for one ticket. However, until now the ticket has not been obtained, while the person selling the ticket cannot be contacted.
The victim's report on the alleged fraud of the music concert ticket has been received by investigators from the Integrated Police Service Center (SPKT) of the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit Number: LP/B/106/V/2023/SPKT/Bareskrim Polri, dated May 19, 2023, with the reporter on behalf of Zainul Arifin.
