JAKARTA - In a European media event that took place at Offenbach, Germany, Honda released a pure electric car both under the name e:Ny1.

Honda e:Ny1 is the latest crossover categorized into the B SUV segment. The manufacturer offers e:Ny1 with a smooth driving experience and "fun-to-drive".

According to Tom Gardner, as Vice President of Honda Motor Europe Ltd, saying that the introduction of e:Ny1 is a logical step to continue the factory's journey in the realm of electrification in Europe.

"The dynamics of this latest SUV demonstrate Honda's commitment to electrification and is the latest step in Honda's electrification journey," Tom said in an official statement on the Honda page.

In terms of exteriors, there is a resemblance to the SUV of the combustion engine-powered Honda, HR-V. This can be seen from the thin forward light that looks to blend. However, what distinguishes it is that the grip on e:Ny1 is covered by highlighting the "H" logo of Honda in the middle.

To add to the classy impression of the electric SUV, Honda pinned the modern caption "Honda" on the rear trunk door.

The manufacturer from Matahari Terbit Country ensures that the owner of Honda e:Ny1 has first-class comfort with this latest SUV. They embed the center console with an easily accessible center layout, a neat dashboard with a 15.1-inch touch screen which has a complete infotainment system.

Still in the interior, Honda presents modern features in the form of several storage options, as well as practical wireless charging.

SUV e:Ny1 has the latest e:N Architecture platform developed by Honda. The front motor drive platform offers three attributes, namely a strong body structure, low gravity center, and lower floor aerodynamics carefully arranged for drivers to have a pleasant experience while driving e:Ny1.

The platform of this EV car combines power drive units that have high and lightweight performance, electric motors, and gyrboks. This can generate 203 dk of power and 310 Nm of peak torque.

In addition to performance, Honda e:Ny1 has a lithium-ion 68.8 kWh battery that has impressive capabilities. With this, e:Ny1 has a range of up to 412 km according to the WLTP cycle with DC fast charging capability from 10 to 80 percent in 45 minutes.

Honda e:Ny1 will be marketed for the European region. However, it is possible that the electric twin from HR-V will greet the Asian market in the future. Although, the manufacturer has not announced the price and sales time.
