The Ministry Of Industry Gives The Upakarti Award To 10 IKM In Indonesia, Here's The List
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) gave the Upakarti Award to individuals, institutions, or companies that actively empower Small and Medium Industries or IKM.
Upakarti is the highest award in the field of industry given by the government to parties who excel and contribute to the development and development of IKM.
"Through this award award award, it is hoped that it can increase awareness, encourage motivation, and community initiatives, both individuals, institutions/organizations or companies to actively participate in the development and empowerment of small and medium-sized industries throughout Indonesia," said Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita at the Ministry of Industry Building, Jakarta, Wednesday, May 10.
Agus said that his party is currently trying to increase the competitiveness of IKM players to be able to contribute more to the national economy.
There are a number of programs carried out by the Ministry of Industry, ranging from technical assistance, to providing market access facilities such as exhibitions.
According to him, to support the growth of IKM in Indonesia, collaboration between the government and other stakeholders is needed.
Moreover, Agus sees the potential of the IKM industry in Indonesia as very large and many IKM industry players still need the government's attention.
"This activity is important to do to prepare our country in the face of a demographic bonus whose peak is estimated to be in 2030, so as not to become a backfire for the national economy later," he said.
The Upakarti Award is divided into two categories, namely Peloporan Service and Services.
Upakarti Service Service is given to individuals/institutions or organizations whose duties and functions do not carry out development and empowerment of IKM.
Meanwhile, Upakarti Jasa Keperoporan was given to companies of medium or large scale and domiciled in Indonesia that carried out the development and empowerment of IKM through development, strengthening of links, and partnership relationships with mutually beneficial principles.
Recipients of the Upakarti Award in each category are required to have developed IKM no later than the last five years.
On the same occasion, the Director General of Small, Medium and Multifarious Industries (IKMA) of the Ministry of Industry, Reni Yanita, said that the 2022 Upakarti Award was given to 10 winners, each of whom was entitled to a financing fund of IDR 50 million.
"After the administrative selection until judging, it was determined that 10 recipients consisting of six award recipients from the service category of service and four from the category of pioneering services stipulated through the Decree of the Minister of Industry Number 3178 of 2022," he said.
Of the 10 award recipients, six of them are categorized as service services from Tasikmalaya, West Java, Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, Bantul DIY Yogyakarta, North Tapanuli, North Sumatra, Madiun, East Java, and Bojonegoro, East Java.
Meanwhile, there are four award recipients who are included in the category of pioneering services, including Sukoharjo, Cirebon, North Jakarta, and West Jakarta.
