The First Day Of The ASEAN Summit, Minister Basuki Enlivened The People's Party At Marina Labuan Bajo
JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono and several other ministers and Governor of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Viktor B. Laiskodat conducted a review of the People's Party held in the Waterfront Marina Area, on the first day of the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo, Tuesday, May 9.
In his review, Minister Basuki visited the local Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) exhibition and had the opportunity to try several of his products, such as weaving, handicrafts, local coffee, to traditional snacks. Basuki also took the time to take a local-made bamboo bike to tour the Waterfront Marina area.
Basuki said the People's Party was held as one of the activities to welcome and enliven the holding of the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo.
"For the past three years, we have prepared infrastructure and facilities for Labuan Bajo tourist destinations. We have seen the progress, so now many foreign and domestic tourists have been able to come here and enjoy Labuan Bajo," Basuki said in a written statement, Tuesday, May 10.
With its unique and attractive views, and cannot be found elsewhere, Basuki advised the people of Labuan Bajo to always be grateful and maintain its beauty.
"Please maintain its beauty and cleanliness. We are grateful that the government has prepared and made Labuan Bajo the second Bali. President Jokowi is very brave in establishing Labuan Bajo as the host of the ASEAN Summit. In Labuan Bajo, we are trying everything we can to make Labuan Bajo better," he said.
Meanwhile, Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno also thanked the people of Labuan Bajo and local MSMEs for their support for domestic tourism. "I am very touched to see the transformation carried out by the people of Labuan Bajo and the infrastructure development has been facilitated by the Ministry of PUPR," he said.
"I entrust the cleanliness and maintenance of the infrastructure, so that it remains in prime condition, because we will welcome world-class tourists. After this ASEAN Summit, we hope that tourists will increase and MSMEs will develop so that the economy will also move further," Sandiaga concluded.
