4 People Died As A Result Of The Palm Oil Factory Waste Tank Explosion In Labuhanbatu

Four people died when the oil palm factory (PKS) waste tank belonging to PT Hijau Prian Perdana (HPP) in Sei Rakyat Village, Central Panai, Labuhanbatu Regency, North Sumatra, exploded.

The head of Sungai Rakyat Village, Central Panai District, Abdul Wahab, confirmed the incident. However, his party did not know the chronology of this work accident because it was out of town.

"I'm still out of town and I got the information just last night. I also don't know what the chronology is like," said Wahab, quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, May 7.

Wahab explained, PT HPP is an oil palm plantation company that has been established in a number of villages in Central Panai District, Labuhanbatu Regency since 2008, while PKS, which claimed lives, was only established in 2022.

The victims, namely Rukman Galinging (51) a resident of Pasar Tiga, Agas Village, Deli Serdang Regency, Rizal (47) a resident of Marelan 5 Medan-Marelan, Marihot Silaen (38) a resident of Ampera, Bilah Hulu District, Labuhannatu Regency and Alex Manik (27) a resident of the Great Strait, Bilah Hilir District, Labuhanbatu Regency.

The victim is a worker at PT CB Polaindo who painted the roof of the 11 meter high waste tank belonging to PT HPP.

The incident is currently being handled by the police.
