Mysterious Death Of A Lover From China At The 5-Star Hotel Jimbaran Bali Is Still Being Investigated
DENPASAR - Police are still investigating the cause of death of two foreign nationals (WNA) from China who were found in a five-star hotel room in the South Kuta area, Badung Regency, Bali.
The Head of Public Relations of the Bali Police, Kombes Stefanus Satake Bayu Setianto, said that until now the investigative team was conducting an examination of witnesses regarding the deaths of a foreigner named Li Chiming (25) and a man named Cheng Jianan (22).
"We are still conducting an investigation. Witnesses who will be examined later from the Denpasar Police will explain further. But what is certain is that there is still a series of investigations to find out the cause," he said, Wednesday, May 3.
Satake also stated that the results of the investigation and autopsy from the Inafis team would determine whether or not there was an attempt to kill the two victims or another cause of death.
"The point is still being investigated. If there are developments, they will be informed further, waiting for information from the Denpasar Police," he said.
Two Chinese foreigners, Li Chiming (25) and Cheng Jianan (22) were previously found dead covered in blood in an InterContinental hotel room in Badung, Bali, Monday (1/5) by hotel officials. The bodies of the two were found at around 07.00 WITA.
Meanwhile, the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the South Kuta Police, AKP Anak Agung Made Suantara, confirmed that there was a wound on the victim's neck. However, the police have not confirmed the chronology of the discovery of the victim's body because they have to wait for the results of the investigation in the form of examining witnesses and evidence found at the crime scene in the form of CCTV footage.
He also denied that there was a motive for the theft in the incident because a number of items belonging to the victim were still safe.
"The results of the temporary development have no indication of theft, no missing items. A number of valuables are still there," he said.
Suantara said there were several witnesses examined in the case who came from the five-star hotel where the bodies of two foreigners were found and were temporarily questioned. The witnesses were questioned at the South Kuta Police Headquarters and Denpasar Police.
"There is CCTV and a number of other clues. Whether it was due to murder or suicide, we are still investigating," he said.
In this case, the bodies of the two Chinese foreigners were found in different places where Li Chiming was found lying in a hotel bathroom bathtub, while Cheng Jianan lay on the terrace of the hotel corridor in a supine position on the hotel floor.
Currently, the bodies of the two victims are being deposited at the Sanglah Central General Hospital, Denpasar, Bali.
