Ridwan Kamil's Electability As A Vice Presidential Candidate Is Higher Than Sandiaga Uno To Erick Thohir
JAKARTA - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil is the vice presidential candidate with the highest electability compared to the others. Based on the results of the Indonesian Political Indicators survey, he received 17.3 percent support.
"The first ranking is still occupied by Ridwan Kamil," said Executive Director of Indonesian Political Indicators Burhanuddin Muhtadi in his statement, Monday, May 1.
The electability of the man who is often called Kang Emil exceeds Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno with 14.2 percent, Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) 12.4 percent, and Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir at 12.2 percent.
In addition, from various simulations of the Presidential Candidate survey, Ridwan Kamil's name is also a figure whose names always appear under Ganjar Pranowo, Prabowo Subianto, and Anies Baswedan.
The figure of the vice presidential candidate, continued Burhanuddin, is one of the determining factors to boost the electability of the presidential candidates during the 2024 General Election (Pemilu). Because, based on the results of the electability survey, the three presidential candidates have not yet reached the electoral figure of up to 50 percent.
"Because I explained earlier that there is no strong difference between presidential candidates, a maximum of 34 percent in the simulation of three names means far to reach 50 percent, so the vice presidential candidate is important," he said.
For information, the survey was conducted from 11 to 17 April 2023. The method used is simple random sampling with a sample size of 1,220 respondents and has a margin of error of approximately 2.9 percent with a confidence level of 95 percent.
Quality control of the results of interviews was conducted randomly by 20 percent of the total sample by supervisors by returning to the selected respondents (spot check). In quality control no significant error was found.
