Tornadoes Of Four Lives Of Southwest Sumba Residents And Dozens Of Houses Damaged
Four residents of Ate Dalo Village, Kodi District, Southwest Sumba Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province died in a tornado natural disaster.
This incident was revealed by the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD). A tornado natural disaster hit Ate Dalo Village, Kodi District, Southwest Sumba Regency on Friday (28/4) at around 14.30 WITA.
"There were four residents who died in the tornado natural disaster in Southwest Sumba Regency," said Head of the East Nusa Tenggara Province Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Ambrosius Kodo in Kupang, Saturday.
In addition to the four victims who died in the incident, there were also two residents who suffered fractures and one critically due to being hit by building materials during a natural tornado.
The natural disaster of a tornado that damaged 25 houses of local residents took place when heavy rains hit Ate Dalo Village.
"The Operations Control Center (Pusdalops) of the NTT Province BPBD recorded that 25 houses were damaged by a tornado," said Amrosius Kodo.
However, he said, the BPBD of Southwest Sumba Regency had not detailed the extent of the damage and the number of residents affected by the incident.
He said officers from the Southwest Sumba Regency BPBD and other related elements were still making emergency response efforts at disaster sites, such as evacuation and assessment of needs.
BPBD said Ambrosius Kodo had coordinated with the Head of the NTT Provincial Social Service to ensure logistical support for affected residents and also for support in managing compensation for victims of death to the Ministry of Social Affairs in Jakarta.
