Golkar Considers PPP Has Left KIB

JAKARTA - Golkar Party DPP chairman Lamhot Sinaga doubts PPP general chairman Muhamad Mardiono will attend the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) meeting this evening. Lamhot thinks that PPP has left Golkar and PAN in KIB by first announcing the presidential candidate (capres).

"Yes, there is no way (Mardiono, ed). PPP has left KIB," said Lamhot at Airlangga Hartarto's residence on Jalan Widya Chandra III, South Jakarta, Thursday, April 27.

In fact, Lamhot revealed, in the meeting which will take place at 21.00 WIB, the general chairman of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto, will also attend.

The presence of the minister of defense at the KIB meeting is in the context of building a Grand Coalition for the 2024 Election. The plan was initiated by five political parties supporting the government, including the PPP.

"As far as I know, Mr. Prabowo and Mr. Zulhas are at Widya Chandra or at a private house. We are still focusing on building this grand coalition," Lamhot said.

Previously, Acting Chairman of PPP, Muhammad Mardiono confirmed that he would attend the KIB meeting tonight.

"Join. I'm a member of KIB," Mardiono told reporters, Thursday, April 27.

Mardiono emphasized that the KIB meeting would be held at 21.00 WIB. The meeting was originally planned for 19.00 WIB.

"9 o'clock, but I don't know if it's closed or open. I just got back from Yogyakarta," he said.
