IDI Asks For Cases Of Persecution Of Doctors In West Lampung To Be Completely Processed
BANDAR LAMPUNG - The Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) Lampung said that the legal process against people who abused two doctors in Lampung must be completed.
"On behalf of IDI Lampung and personally the two doctors who were persecuted, frankly have forgiven these individuals because in essence, human beings must forgive each other, but what we can't do much about is that the legal process must continue," said IDI Lampung chairman Dr. Josi Harnos., MARS, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 25.
"This is a form of our respect for the legal state of Indonesia. So let the law run as it should," he said.
Regarding the abuse of doctors in West Lampung, Dr. Josi deeply regrets the incident. Doctors and health workers are emphasized as assets from each region that can make a real contribution to society, especially in remote areas.
"Of course, this incident is very unfortunate, even though in fact it is very difficult for us to place doctors in remote locations who are actually treated like that. If the public sees this incident, if only later doctors would not dare to enter remote areas anymore, who would lose?" said Josie.
According to him, the public, especially those in remote areas, should have more respect for the doctors practicing there. Because they (doctors) also devote themselves to helping the community with pleasure while carrying out their duties on behalf of the state.
"But when this task is actually not put to good use, instead it is harassed and not even appreciated by members of the public, of course, this can have a negative impact on other doctors," he said.
According to Josi, the doctor he treated said he still wanted to work in West Lampung.
"We have asked and confirmed whether they are deterred and afraid or traumatized by this incident. We are ready for the sake of our country not to give up, that's the answer of the two doctors who were victims of persecution," he said.
Previously, the West Lampung Police arrested the perpetrators who were suspected of assaulting doctors on duty at the Fajar Bulan Health Center, Way Tenong District, West Lampung Regency, Lampung.
The abuse took place on Saturday (22/4) which was carried out by two perpetrators named AW and MH, residents of Bandar Lampung City.
The persecution began when the perpetrator AW as a patient came to the Fajar Bulan Health Center complaining of heartburn.
Furthermore, doctor Carel who treats the patient gives medicine according to patient complaints and standard operating procedures at the puskesmas.
Carel, who was a victim of the persecution, explained to the patient's family that the medicine had been given to AW and he would be observed first, waiting for the medicine to work.
Patients who can no longer stand the pain are advised to go to the emergency room at the nearest hospital in Bukit Kemuning, because the doctor has given medicine according to the patient's complaints.
Then the perpetrator MH, who was dissatisfied with Doctor Carel's explanation, spontaneously immediately dragged, strangled, and slammed Doctor Carel to the floor with the help of his sister AW.
