Missing Day, Tourist Found Dead On Rawakalong Beach, Sukabumi

The joint SAR team managed to find the body of a missing tourist drowned on Rawakalong Beach, Sukabumi Regency, West Java on Monday, April 24, 2023. "The victim was found at the end of the star rock wave breaker or about 200 meters from the location where the victim drowned, namely Rawakalong Beach, Jayanti Village, Palabuhanratu District," said Sukabumi Police Chief AKP Tenda Sukendar quoted by ANTARA, Monday, April 24. Based on information collected from the joint SAR team, the victim's body was on behalf of Edy Proyoga (25), a resident of Cisandelir Village, Mekarjaya Village, Caringin District, Sukabumi Regency was found at around 03.50 WIB on Monday, (24/4) in a state of death.

The SAR team that was conducting a search on the ground suspected a floating object around a star rock (wave break). After being traced, it turned out that the object was one of the missing victims drowned on Rawakalong Beach. The joint SAR team immediately evacuated the victim's body to the Palabuhanratu Hospital for a post-mortem. According to Tenda, with the discovery of one missing victim drowned on Rawakalong Beach, so that only one more victim has not been found, namely Dio Saputra (15) a resident of Tegalpanjang Village, Sukamaju Village, Cikembar District, Sukabumi Regency. Previously, a group of tourists from Sukabumi Regency who were one family on Sunday, (23/4) traveled to Rawakalong Beach to spend the holiday and leave with the celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1444 H. Prior to the incident, actually the coast guard officers had given an appeal to tourists not to swim in the sea. However, unfortunately, the warning was ignored by the 10 tourists who were finally enlivened when they were swimming they were swept away by the ocean current which resulted in two missing people drowning and eight others were rescued. For the missing tourists drowned on Rawakalong Beach, one victim was found on Monday, (24/4) morning on behalf of Edy Prayoga (25).

"Until now, the joint SAR team is still searching for one victim who has not been found," said Tenda Sukendar.
