Police Ask Residents Not To Convoy Mobile Takbir In Central Jakarta Area
The Central Jakarta Metro Police have called for a ban on the public from carrying out takbir around the upcoming takbiran night. This is because traveling takbir activities are feared to cause traffic accidents, congestion and others.
"We urge people who will carry out takbir to carry out takbir at the village mosques where they live. There is no need for traveling takbir," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Komarudin to VOI, Monday, April 17.
The Central Jakarta Metro Police will also create a special security strategy for the upcoming takbiran night. Security is carried out in anticipation of the euphoria of the joy of Muslims celebrating victory because they have completed the fasting service for 1 full month.
"Please carry out takbir at the mosques in his village without having to do takbir around," he said again.
Meanwhile, regarding the plan to block and divert traffic flow in the border area of Central Jakarta, Kombes Komarudin admitted that he had not conducted a special assessment.
"We will review it later, later we will discuss it with the Traffic Director. Which section will be engineered for diversion or closure to anticipate that there should be no access in and out of vehicles that can occur in congestion," he said.
