5,651 Christian Teachers In Central Java Get Provincial Government Assistance
JAKARTA - The Central Java Provincial Government does not only provide incentive assistance for Islamic religious teachers. A total of 5,651 Christian teachers in this area also received assistance in 2023.
Christian Teacher Yemima Alfsen thanked Governor Ganjar Pranowo for receiving this assistance. He received the incentives regularly for four months. Within a year he received Rp1.2 million.
"You can add daily necessities, you can pay off debts, buy candy as well as for quizzes for school children on Sunday," said the teacher at the Pantekost Envoy Church in Indonesia (GUPDI) Blimbing Village, Gatak District, Sukoharjo, Thursday, April 13.
Incentives for religious teachers have been distributed by the provincial government since 2019. For 2023, 223,373 Islamic religious teachers have received it. While Christian religious teachers 5,651, Catholics 1,089, Hindu 548, and Buddhist 169.
Incentives are given as a form of appreciation for religious teachers in educating children with sincerity and sincerity.
At first, Yemima didn't think he would get help. He and his fellow teachers were very excited and grateful for the incentives.
"We are grateful that God always sees our services. Always gives wages. No matter how small our services are. Whatever we do. When what we do is good, there must be wages. Work has wages. It's proven," he said.
For years teaching at the church, said Yemima, only in the era of Ganjar Pranowo, there was a program to provide religious teaching incentives. He is very enthusiastic about the existence of the program.
Yemima teaches every Sunday. He teaches religious knowledge to drawing and painting skills.
Representing GUPDI Bedodo, Yemima thanked Governor Ganjar Pranowo for caring for religious teachers of all religions.
"We hope that the aid will not stop. You (the governor) can continue to pay attention to us. Until whenever so that we are more enthusiastic about serving," he concluded.
