JAKARTA - Foodstuffs left behind for a few days can be stale and damaged if not stored properly, therefore from the type of material to the container it needs to be considered.
Here are some ways to store food ingredients to make them durable when left for homecoming, as broadcast in a written statement by Tititipku, reported ANTARA.
Before leaving, make sure the food supply is sufficient for the first few days after the travelers return from their hometowns. This needs to be considered because usually the market will close during and after Eid al-Fitr. Save sufficient ingredients, namely for a day to two days so that the stored food is not excessive.
When storing foodstuffs, make sure to use an air-tight container to keep food fresh longer. For example, use a plastic bag that can be tied tightly or a storage box with an air-proof cover. Closed containers that are tightly adjacent also avoid food ingredients in a fly or tick.
