Rival Sons Share Video Clips For Bird In The Hand Song
JAKARTA - The band that won two Grammy Rival Sons nominations released an official music video for its newest single, Bird in the Hand. This anthem will be included in their full album, Darkfighter, which will be released on June 2.
Bird in the Hand, directed by Kurt Kubicek, continues the narrative shown in a companion video previously released for explosive singles Nobody Wants to Die (directed by Eli Sokhn) and Rapture (directed by Kurt Kubicek).
"Good luck continues with other prequels in our new video," guitarist Scott Holiday was quoted as saying by Blabbermouth on Thursday. "Jay and I worked together to write and produce this one again, as well as work with our best friend Kurt Kubicek. Everything was taken in our backyard in Hollywood Hills... straight from Sunset Strip! Right on the road from the world-famous Whiskey A Go Go!
"We found this incredible medieval time capsule house that organizes scenes for most of the videos. It's amazing to make this little sketch. It's great fun. It's all made with a very small budget. But limitations force us to do it to be very creative and focused.
"We are very lucky to have talented friends/cru/and collaborators working with us who see this video as a passion project... which is the only way they can unite. I think when you watch this video series you can feel the love that goes into it."
Meanwhile, vocalist Jay Buchanan added, Rapture is a prequel from Nobody Wants to Die while Bird in the Hand is a prequel from Rapture. The cast of the same character, a different part of the story.
"This is a fun time to write and produce this video with a great director and crew. With our video production really at the right point where we don't know the rules, so we're not afraid to violate them. We'll see where it goes next from here," he explained.
To support this new album, Rival Sons will embark on North America's top journey for five weeks titled "The Darkfighter Tour". On this tour, they will be accompanied by The Black Angels, The Record Company, and Starcrawler on a certain date.
