Government In Kapuas Regency Confirmed To Run After Regent Ben Brahim Was Detained By KPK

KapUAS - Deputy Regent of Kapuas, Central Kalimantan, Muhammad Nafiah Ibtor said service activities in the local district government are currently running normally, after the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) detained Regent Ben Brahim S Bahat and his wife Ary Egahni. "Government activities ranging from village to city continue to run normally as usual," said Nafiah Ibnor in Kuala Kapuas reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 29. This was conveyed by the number two person in Kapuas Regency after attending the Kapuas Regional House of Representatives Plenary Meeting (DPRD) Kapuas with the agenda of listening to the general views of the factions against the Regional Head Accountability Report on the 2022 Budget Year in the Plenary Room of the local DPRD. Nafiah hopes that despite the current turmoil, Kapuas Regency remains safe, conducive, and the government runs smoothly. The KPKPK has appointed Kapuas Regent Ben Brahim S Bahat and wife Ary Egahni who are members of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the NasDem Party as suspects for alleged corruption. Both of them are officially detained at the KPK Detention Center to undergo further legal proceedings on suspicion of corruption crimes allegedly committed by number one person in the local district with his wife.

After the two were named suspects by the KPK, Tuesday (28/3), the KPK team searched the local district government office on Jalan Pemuda, Kuala Kapuas and the private house of Kapuas Regent Ben Brahim S Bahat on Jalan Kenanga, Kuala Kapuas. Then today, Wednesday (29/3), the KPK continued the search at the PUPRPKP Office, Jalan Tambun Bungai and the Kapuas PDAM Office on Jalan Mahakam, Kuala Kapuas.
