BRI Boss Disbursed The High Boost Of BUMN Red Plate Profit In 2022
JAKARTA - President Director of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Sunarso explained 3 factors driving BRI's high profit throughout 2022.
Throughout January to December 2022, BRI managed to record a net profit of IDR 51.4 trillion or grew 67.15 percent year on year (yoy) with total double-digit growth assets of 11.18 percent yoy to IDR 1,865.64 trillion.
Sunarso said the 3 driving things included, among others, first, a reduction in the cost of BRI funds, which made it the lowest in BRI's history.
"Digital and cultural transformation has succeeded in reducing the cost of funds or cost of funds which make it the lowest in BRI's history," Sunarso said in a Hearing Meeting with Commission VI, Tuesday, March 28.
Just so you know, BRI's funding continues to fall from 2.05 percent at the end of 2021 to 1.87 percent at the end of 2022.
The second driving factor, he continued, was to reduce operational costs as reflected in the Operational Revenue Operations Fee (BOPO) ratio which dropped drastically from 78.54 percent in 2021 to 69.1 percent in 2022.
"We are cheaping operational costs through various programs," added Sunarso.
And the third factor driving BRI's profit growth is to reduce credit costs or reduce credit quality hunting reserves so that BRI's cost of credit drops from 3.78 to 2.55.
"Then it succeeded in increasing the portion of fee-based income. Our based income fee for a year reached 18.8 trillion so that the fee income ratio was 11.37 percent," explained Sunarso.
Sunarso also said that since the beginning of joining BRI, his party had difficulty increasing fee-based income to double digits.
"Our fee is 6 to 7 and the goal is that double digits are very difficult. Then thank God, thanks to the support from all parties, our fee based income ratio has reached 11.37 percent," concluded Sunarso.
