Sandiaga Uno Uses The U-20 World Cup Momentum To Withdraw Tourists
JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno does not want to be left behind by the moment Indonesia hosted the U-20 World Cup. This celebration, he said, could be the right space to promote the beauty of Indonesia.
The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy is now preparing various things to support the biennial football party.
"In accordance with the direction of the President, we support the preparation of the FIFA U-20 World Cup, especially with the promotion of tourism and preparation of pre- and side events, as well as creative economy products that will be displayed during the FIFA U-20 World Cup event," said Sandiaga, Friday 9 September.
Sandiaga said that his party would take various approaches, one of which was related to promotion.
"This includes how we approach digital marketing so that this world event can have a positive impact on tourism recovery, promotion of destinations, as well as our creative economy products," he said.
There are six venues used to support the U-20 World Cup. Of the six venues, Sandiaga said his party would prepare tour packages to attract tourist visits.
"There are six venues that will be used, of course, Bali is our flagship destination as well as South Sumatra, West Java, Central Java, Jakarta and Surabaya. So, in the six venues we have also prepared tour packages," said Sandiaga.
For example, in Bali, his party will prepare tour packages around Bali. Then, for another example in Surabaya, tour packages will be prepared around the Bromo Tengger Semeru (BTS) area which is the icon of tourists.
"In Bali to be around Bali, in Surabaya, maybe later for Bromo Tengger Semeru (BTS), and in Solo for Borobudur, West Java there are many destinations, especially those related to natural destinations as well as culinary tourism and tourism for creative economy products," said Sandiaga.
"In South Sumatra, we also prepare historical and tourism-based tourism that encourages opportunities for creative economy products such as handicrafts, crafts, and fashion," he concluded.
