JAKARTA - YouTube is re-launching a new way for users who still rely on ad blocking tools, and asking them to immediately subscribe to Premium.

Seen in the upload of Reddit user MaybeCrispWaffles, YouTube updated a warning that included a countdown in the upper right corner.

That counter shows how long it lasts for users to take action before the ad plays on Google's platform.

According to users, the time counter runs for 30 to 60 seconds. Below, YouTube explains what the benefits are if users subscribe to YouTube Premium.

The company also includes the YouTube Advertising option or YouTube Premium Trial. Still in the same upload, some users are also seen saying that they get similar warnings.

"Google seems to be slowly launching this to all accounts for account," said one Reddit user.

As previously reported in June, YouTube reportedly started fighting users blocking ads using third-party apps. The company asked them to subscribe to Premium if they wanted to avoid ads while playing videos.

A warning appears where users will be prohibited from playing YouTube videos after watching three content with ad blocking enabled.

A Google spokesperson confirmed they were indeed testing the ad blocking feature to few users globally, of course to see feedback.

"We are running a small global experiment that drives viewers with ad blocking enabled to allow ads on YouTube or try YouTube Premium," Google Oluwa spokesman Falodun told The Verge.

"The detection of ad blocking is nothing new, and other publishers regularly ask viewers to disable ad blocking," he added.
