JAKARTA - After being announced earlier this year, Project Q suddenly appeared on social media showing Sony's handheld device will run on Android Operations System (OS).

The product leak was first revealed by Twitter user @Zuby_Tech, which shows details about the Project Q handheld console hardware along with videos showing how it works.

Introduced for the first time on the May 2023 PlayStation Showcase by Sony President Jim Ryan, this new device is claimed to be a potential option for gamers to use.

Unlike the Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch hybrid consoles, Project Q itself is a streaming platform where gamers can play the PlayStation5 (PS5) game via Remote Play using a Wi-Fi connection.

Even so, gamers must first install their games on the PS5 to use Project Q, which is equipped with an 8-inch HD screen and equipped with a control pad that displays all control buttons similar to the DualSense PS5.

Apparently, this device also has a set of four buttons behind the tablets, middle holes at the top and bottom that may serve as microphones and speakers at the upper edge.

Unfortunately, not much about the menu being displayed is only a few options next to the QR code. Chances are, this device leak is not the final version of the navigation display, but it can provide an overview for gamers on how Project Q is.

If Project Q actually runs Android, it means the device will depend on the built-in processor and its storage will also be limited. Sony is claimed not to embed more than 16GB in it.

It is not known for sure how much it costs for this device, it is reported that Project Q will launch in November 2023. This was quoted from Game Rant, Monday, July 24.
