JAKARTA - Opera realized that now the browser must be more sophisticated by adding Artificial Intelligence (AI) in it, Aria. This new AI browser is powered by OpenAI's GPT.

"With Aria, you get access to leading generative AI services for free. Built in built-in in a browser, Aria marks the beginning of a new type of browsing experience," Opera said in an official statement, quoted Thursday, May 25.

Now, Aria is available via the Opera One browser for desktop and beta for Android. Through Aria, users can increase creativity and productivity by leveraging AI power.

The new AI is based on the company's Composite infrastructure that utilizes OpenAI's GPT power and is upgraded with additional capabilities such as adding live results from the web.

Aria can also collaborate with web browser users when used to search for information on the web, create text and code, or answer their product questions.

Opera also stated that Aria had knowledge about the entire Opera support documentation database, so the AI could answer any questions about the products or services users have.

"Compozers allow Aria to connect to several AI models, and in the future it will develop by integrating additional capabilities such as search services from several Opera partners. All of this will be unified into innovative and coherent user experiences," Opera said.

Aria can be used for free with the latest information, meaning users must always connect to the internet. This browser AI is sent to more than 180 countries including the European Union.

To access Aria, the user must create an Opera account. When finished, the user will be notified via email or in the product about the status of the whitelist.

Once the Opera Account is whitelisted, users can access Aria through the Opera settings for Android beta or through the Opera One browser.

This isn't the first time Opera has been experimenting with AI. The company previously embedded ChatGPT technology in its desktop browser that offers access to AI commands.

Currently, the new integration is being tested through a new browser called Opera One, which features a modular design to make exploration more intuitive, while leveraging AI power through new tools and features. It is estimated that Opera One will make its public debut later this year.

"AI-based services are set to become more integrated into Opera in the upcoming browser version, with the ultimate goal of being combined natively into a browser to help you perform cross-browser tasks," Opera explained.
