JAKARTA - Last fall, Google announced a major upgrade to devices running its newest, Google TV, with personalized access so that every user in the home can have an individual profile with their own Assistant recommendations and feedback.
Back in December, the feature was delayed until the "coming months", and it still hasn't been found. However, 9to5Google reports the viewable card for the Google TV ambient mode screen saver which was also announced at the same time is now starting to roll out.
When it was announced last October, Google showed a version of the UI with a large personalized card scrolling through the center of the screen. However, on the devices that have featured it so far, 9to5Google mentions that it actually looks a little different, with smaller information chips lining the bottom of the screen with things like YouTube video shortcuts, podcasts on Google Podcasts, or prompts for Google Assistant.
If it's enabled on your device, they mention that the indication should be a menu prompt telling you "proactive personal results now on" so you can go to Assistant settings and turn it off if you don't want it on your TV screen.
As with most things Google, the exact launch time is unknown, but with Google I/O kicking off tomorrow, it's possible users will hear more about its smart TV features.
