JAKARTA - The Blue Bird Group transportation company, continues to show its commitment to environmentally friendly mobility by conducting trials on the hybrid fleet. This step is part of Blue Bird's strategy to provide sustainable transportation solutions by integrating environmentally friendly technology.

Founded in 1972, Blue Bird Group introduced a fleet that uses plug-in hybrid (PHEV) technology as a first step in reducing environmental impacts. To date, the company says it is still in the operational testing phase, involving five units of PHEV vehicles.

Adrianto Djokosoetono, President Director of PT Blue Bird Tbk, revealed that they are conducting trials on the PHEV fleet and are continuing to evaluate to ensure optimal performance.

"We currently have a hybrid model, especially plug-in hybrid (PHEV) as well. We are still testing PHEV vehicles," said the man who is familiarly called Andre after the launch of the latest fleet in Jakarta, Monday, December 11.

Although still in the trial phase, Blue Bird has strong intentions to increase the number of their PHEV fleets. Andre explained that after the trial phase is complete and everything is proven to be as planned, the company will consider the addition of the PHEV fleet significantly.

It is known, Blue Bird Group has previously entered hybrid vehicles into its operations, such as the fourth generation PHEV Toyota Prius model introduced at the end of 2021. This environmentally friendly vehicle, like most PHEV cars, has the ability to operate with electric power or gasoline engines. The PHEV Toyota Prius is equipped with a 2ZR-FXE fuel engine with a capacity of 1,800 cc with an electric motor, capable of a distance of 68.2 km in electric mode.

In addition to the PHEV fleet, Blue Bird Group has also integrated the Electric Vehicle (EV) into their services. This fleet includes BYD E6 and Tesla Model X 75D as operational vehicles for Silver Bird which are actively operating on a number of streets in Jakarta.
